Mrs Rackow was born July 24, 1859 at Howards Grove. She was the daughter of the late Mr & Mrs Gottfried Winkel. For several years she reside at Howards Grove, later lived in Wisconsin and Texas. Three years ago she went to Chicago and since had made her home with her daughter. Surviving her are the husband and thirteen children.
Interment was in the German Lutheran Church cemetery, Howards Grove.

Mrs. Rackow
The funeral of Mrs. Bertha Rackow, who passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. O. Spooner in Chicago, was held at 1 p.m. Monday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Perrone, Howards Grove. Five brothers and a brother-in-law were the pallbearers. The Rev. Schmidt officiated and burial was in the Lutheran cemetery, Town Herman.
The survivors are the husband, Edward Rackow of Chippewa Falls; three sons, Louis Rackow of Plymouth, Rudolph of Chicago, and Edward C. of Eden; ten daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Bromme, Fond du Lac, Mrs. Ella Hoehne, Greenbush, Mrs. Millie Chapman, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Mae Klahn, Greenbush, Mrs. Cora Spooner, Chicago, Mrs. Emma Hennecke, Chicago, Mrs. Ida Bloecher, Wittenberg, Mrs. Clara Schubert, Wauwatosa, Mrs. Lydia Wressow, Edgar and Mrs. Anna Manke, Milwaukee.
There are also twenty-two grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. G. Winkel of Howards Grove; six sisters, Mrs. C. Krueger of Curtis, Mrs. Fred Perrone and Mrs. J. Gruenewald of Howards Grove, Mrs. Ida Minster and Mrs. L. Klueger of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Louis Marbes of Boltonville; and five brothers, Herman Winkel of Cleveland, Fred Winkel of Kiel, and Louis, Charles and Gustave Winkel of Howards Grove.
