Services for Cliff Potter on Thursday
Funeral services for Charles Clifton Potter, 61, of 71 Kennedy, will be held 2 p.m Thursday at the Woods Memorial Christian church with the Rev. Thomas Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill cemetery.
Mr. Potter died early today at the Excelsior Springs hospital after being in failing health five years and seriously ill one year.
He was born April 2, 1896 in Ray county, the son of Mr and Mrs. William Potter and had lived nearly all his life in Clay county.
On May 12, 1916, he was married to Willena Frances Whitworth. His wife preceded him in death in 1950.
He was a member of the Woods Memorial Christian church. His occupation was plasterer.
Surviving are a son, Buddy Dean Potter of the home; five daughters Mrs. Dwight Wills, Mrs. Sherman Dooley, Mrs. Franklin Hendricks, Mrs. Vernon Hendricks, all of Excelsior Springs community; and Mrs. Norma Endsley, Wichita, Kans.; a brother, Grover Potter, this city; a sister, Mrs. Gertie Piercy, this city; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Rogers, Erwin McCrary, Palmer Shelton, Golden Duncan, Delmer McGinnis, and Leonard Turner.
The body will lie in state at Prichard Funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
