Harold E. Alwes Jr., 73 died Thursday at Humana Hospital University of Louisville.
He was a retired maintenance employee for Gernal Services and Administration, where he worked for 30 years, an Army Ari Corps veteran of Wrold War Ii and a member of Verterans of Foreign Wars Post 3593, American Association of retired Persons Nationals Association of Retired Federal Employees, Junior Order of United American Mechanics, 82nd Airborne Division Association and Manley Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors: Three daugherrs, Marie A. Wilson of Bowling Green, Kathleen A. Hoogland of Penifield, N.Y., and Diana A. Webb of Rockfield; two sons, Harold Alwes of Kansas City, Mo., and Kevin A. Alwes; a brother Don Alwes; thre sisters, Virginia Hayes of Pompano Beach, Fla., Mary E. Wallace and Lilian Chavis; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Owen Funeral HOme, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in EVergreen Cemetery. Visitation from 10- a.m. to 9 p.m. Firday.

Harold passed away eleven days after a auto accident in New Albany, Indiana. He is buried beside his father Harold Edgar Alwes, Sr. and mother, Mary Catherine Blanche Hehemann Alwes.

First marriage was to Mary R. Price born August 16, 1919 in Kentucky, married to Harold on January 24, 1941 in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana, married by C. E. Parsley. Marriage ended in divorce about a year later.
