William Henry Alwes, 74, of 8216 National Turnpike, died there Monday.
He was a retired Louisville Police officer with 32 years of service, and a member of Manely Memorial Baptist Church, the Louisville Police Officers Association and the Honest Abe Council of the Junior Order of Mechanics.
Survivors include three daughers, Mrs. Martha Capps of Indianapolis, Mrs. Nancy Carter and Mrs. Ptricai McDowell; a son, Richard Alwes of Springfield, Va; two brothers, Harold and Donald Alwes; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Hays of Pompano Beach, Fla., Mrs. Mary E. Wallace and Mrs. Lillian Chavis; nine grand children; and a great grandchild.
the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Evergreen Cemtery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wedneday.
