Patrick Conneally was born about November 1831 at Knockanara House, in Williamstown, County Galway, Ireland. Patrick's father was Thomas Conneally, mother Catherine Patterson.

Patrick's siblings:
John 1829-1904 (stayed in Ireland)
Catherine abt.1830-abt.1890
Francis abt. 1832
Thomas aft. 1833
Sarah 1842-1886 (married Mark Welch)
Luke 1845-1927

Some of Patrick's brother John's offspring settled in the Los Angeles, California area, while one has remained to this day on the family homestead, Knockanara House, in Ireland.

Patrick's brother, Luke, settled in Nebraska, leaving many descendants. During the last decade of his life, Patrick lived with Luke, dying in Wallace, Nebraska, and is buried in Morning View Cemetery, Wallace, Nebraska (SOURCE: Morning View Cemetery Office, 2003.).

But I jump ahead of myself. Patrick came over to the states in 1851. Probably it is OUR Patrick Conneally which is listed on board the ship, Victoria, which docked in New York City on August 23, 1851. The name of the ship was passed down orally from the Nebraska relatives,

Patrick was married to Irish born Mary McLaughlin (1829-1890). Mary was also from the Williamstown area, a section called Templetogher, Derrywode. Patrick and Mary were wed in Staten Island, New York, in St. Mary's Church in the Rosebank section on March 20, 1859.

Patrick and Mary McLaughlin Conneally had 7 children:
Thomas M. Conneally 1860-1927
Catherine M. Conneally 1863-1935
Ellen/Mother Theophila Conneally 1864-1940
John Conneally 1866-aft.1930
Luke Conneally 1868-bef. 1940
Mary Agnes Conneally Enright 1872-1952 (my grandmother)
Francis Patrick Conneally 1872-1912

There is no headstone for Patrick Conneally in Wallace, Nebraska.
However, his daughter Mary Agnes Conneally Enright had his name put on the gravestone in her town of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
