fifth child of Patrick and Mary McLaughlin Conneally, was born August 14, 1868. He was baptized nine days later. His godparents were John Connelly [no "a"] and Elizabeth Rielly [sic]. Luke married Mary F. Fitzgerald (1874-1965) of Bridgeport, CT, never having any children. They made their home in Philadelphia where Luke we think may have been a high-class haberdasher sold men's clothing. They were very well off, not rich, but comfortable. And Uncle Luke was very fond of his kid sister's son, my father, John R. Enright.
That is why, after Uncle Luke's death in the 1930s, John named his second son, Stephen Luke Enright, and asked Uncle Luke's widow to be the godmother. She was deeeelighted. At the age of, what, 66 she was chosen to be the "mother" of the day. John R. Enright (and wife Nan) inherited Mary Fitzgerald Conneally's possessions, among which is the chippendale armchair I have. I'm thinking of you, Aunt Mary, and fondly too.

I'm adding Luke and Mary Fitzgerald Conneally to his parents's in St. Joseph's cemetery since I don't know where they are buried.
