Funeral services were held at the Woodson Gymnasuim at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, for Mrs. May Walker, 78 of Elbert, who died in the Throckmorton Hospital Saturday at 7 p.m., after entering the hospital on Thursday. Howard Peacock, former minister of the Woodson Church of Christ, was in charge of the final rites and burial was followed in the Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Satterwhite Funeral Home in Breckenridge. Grandsons of Mrs. Walkers were pallbearers. Mrs. Walker was born November 25, 1876 in Missouri and was a resident of the Woodson, Throckmorton area most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are six daughters, Mrs. NELLIE CANUTESON of Breckenridge, Mrs. BERTHA MAHAN, Mrs. CORA ALLISON, Mrs. BESSIE HARVEY, all of Woodson, Mrs. BONNIE MITCHELL and Mrs. VELMA MIXON, both of Elbert; four sons, S.J. WALKER, CLARENCE WALKER, GALE WALKER, all of Woodson, and HORTON WALKER of Roswell, N.M.; two brothers, GEORGE HUNT and WALTER HUNT, both of Cisco; two sisters, Mrs. SUDIE PUGH of Breckenridge and Mrs. ESTHER WHITEHEAD of Cisco; 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
