Sam J. Walker, 82, a stock farmer and resident of the Lusk community for the past 33 years, died Friday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at Breckenridge Clinic. Mr. Walker suffered a stroke at the home of his daughter, Mrs. BESSIE HARVEY of Lusk and was brought to the local hospital yesterday morning at 8 o'clock. He was a native Texan, born Nov. 4, 1865. Funeral services, Satterwhite directed, were held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Woodson. Howard Peacock of Graham officiating, followed by burial in Woodson Cemetery. Six daughters and five sons survive. The daughters besides Mrs. HARVEY are; Mrs. A.M. CANUTESON and Mrs. BERTHA MAHAN of Lusk, Mrs. CORA ALLISON, Woodson and Mrs. BONNIE MITCHELL and Mrs. VELMA MIXON of Elbert. The sons are, HARRISON WALKER of Sweetwater, CLARENCE WALKER and S.J. JR., both of Lusk, HORTON WALKER, Roswell, N.M. and GALE WALKER, Woodson. Eighteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also survive.
