Earl Henry DOWNES 55, of Stafford Road Somers died Monday (Aug 2) at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Born in Hartford he formerly lived in Ellington for 25 years, moving to Somers 11 years ago. He was employed as a maintenance worker for the park department for the town of Somers.
He was a member of Pat Ledoux Post of Hamden MA.and a veteran of World War II United States Army.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Morse) Downes a daughter Deborah J Walsh of Somers, his mother Mrs Rose (Luetjen) Downes, of Rockville, two brothers Lewis J Downes of Rockville and William M Downes of Branford Fl.two sisters, Mrs Gladys A Dilworth of Bolton, and Mrs Cynthia R Caldwell of Ellington and a grandson.
Funeral will be Friday at 11 a. m. at Somers Funeral Home Somers. Burial in West Cemetery with military honors.
