Lewis J DOWNES, 58, of 51 Snipsic St,. Ellington, died Wednesday ( March 2) at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Ellington, he was a life long resident. He was a member of the Ellington Congregational Church and a member of the Italian Social Club. He was employed by the Highway Department for the town of Ellington.
He leaves his wife Helen Gertrude (Marley) Downes, his mother Rose (Luetjen) Downes of Ellington, a brother William Milton Downes, of Branford Florida, two sisters, Mrs, Cynthia Cadwell of Ellington, and Mrs Gladys Dillworth of Bolton.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Ellington Congregational Church. Burial will be in Ellington Center Cemetery.
