Gladys A. Dilworth, 81, of Vernon, devoted wife to the late Donald L. Dilworth, passed away peacefully Monday, September 8, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 7, 1933 in Ellington, CT, she was a daughter to the late Gordon and Rose (Luetjen) Downes.
She was a hairdresser for many years at Billie's Beauty Shop in Manchester.
She is survived by her daughter Darlene Quirk and her husband, Peter of Ellington; son Paul of East Hartford; 8 grandchildren William and Emily; Katherine, Michael and Stephen; and Jessica, Carolyn and Dorothy; 2 great-grandchildren Gabriella and Chase. She also leaves her sister Cynthia Caldwell and her husband, Arthur of Ellington; numerous nieces, nephews and special friend Nancy Bonczek.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Glenn; and 5 brothers.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 4-7pm at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon with a funeral service beginning at 7pm. Interment will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 13th in Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
