Buford Rites Set For Today

George M. (Mike) Buford, 62, of 1911 Rondo St. died at the University Hospital Sunday night after an extended illness.

Buford was a native of Carroll County, had lived in Jackson 30 years and was a member of Boling Street Methodist Church. He owned and operated Buford's Tastee Freez at 1041 Woodrow Wilson.

Survivors are his widow Mrs. Grace Smith Buford of Jackson; mother, Mrs. Lorena Buford of Greenwood; one brother, James (Hicks) Buford of Clarksdale; seven sisters, Mrs. Lena Glazer of Jackson, Mrs. B. F. Moore, Clarksdale, Mrs. Gordon Ellington of Lexington, Mrs. Will Mosley, Mrs. Lorena Scott, Mrs. Noah Alford and Mrs. S. J. Alford all of Greenwood.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Baldwin Chapel with his pastor, Rev. B. K. Hardin, officiating. Interment will be made in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Bill Gates, Billy Moore, Donald Gates, Allen Gardner, Jim Mosley and Robert Gates.
