Allene Alma Lewman, 89, of Arkansas City, KS died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Medicalodge North. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Chambers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Newkirk Cemetery.
Allene was born October 27, 1917, in Kay County, OK to Charles W. and Gertrude C. (Flauding) Boyer. Allene was reared and educated in Oklahoma.
On November 22, 1943, she married Ellsworth Harold Lewman. The couple made their home in Kansas and Oklahoma. Allene was a homemaker and a nurses aide at the Arkansas City Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Derrell Lewman, and Larry Lewman, both of Arkansas City; four sisters, Jessie Stout of McAllen, TX; Eva Beeks, Wilma Copeland, Dorothy Fultz, all of Arkansas City, KS; one brother Robert Boyer of Banner Elk, NC; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Allene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ellsworth, her brother Alvin Boyer, and her sister Ruth Burnett.
A memorial has been established with the Central Christian Church of the Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
