William Henry Guthrie, 170 Smith St., Canonsburg, died Monday July 27 at 6:20 a.m. after an extended illness. He was admitted to the Canonsburg General Hospital on July 16. He is well known as a plumber in the area, for 45 years and retired in 1953. He lived in the area all his life.
Born in Peters Township, Washington County Dec. 10, 1876, a son of Robert and Mary Furneaux Guthrie and married Irene E. Nowland Nov. 28, 1906 at Washington, Pa.
Surviving besides his wife is one brother, James Park Guthrie, Adamsville, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Griffith Funeral Home this evening after 7 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday, July 29, at 3 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Robert H. Anderson, pastor of the First Christian Church.
