Grover Loving Ramsey Sr. , 89, passed away Sunday morning, November 11, 2018, surrounded by his seven children and many of his grandchildren.
He was born on August 29, 1929 in Amherst County to the late William M. Ramsey and Clarice "Jobe" Tyler. He was the second born of 12 children.
He was also preceded by his wife of 38 years, Nannie Frances Tomlin Ramsey; mother-in-law, Hallie Staton Tomlin; eight siblings to include:
three brothers,

He was a logger and woodsman for most of his 89 years and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Buena Vista.
He is survived by his seven children, Nancy (John) Brown, Patty (Mike) Napier, Wilma Beck, Frances (Glenn) Tomlin, Grover "Pete" (Debbie) Ramsey, Lesa (Raymond) Solomon and Cindy (Jay) Turner; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Delmas (Alice) Ramsey and Lawrence (Donna) Ramsey; one sister, Maggie Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeff Taylor and Pastor Bob Banks officiating.
Interment will be at the Oronoco Brethren Church.
