Claire "Jobee" Ramsey, 92, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, January 18, 1998, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Born on November 10, 1905, in Amherst County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mammie Martin Tyler. She was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Outreach Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Ramsey; three sons, William C. Ramsey, Roy Lee Ramsey and Samuel Ramsey; one daughter, Alice Cox; two sisters, Lula Beverly and Nannie Chittum, and one brother, Richard Tyler. Surviving are her five daughters, Lillian Fitzgerald of Lynchburg, Daisy Sears of Essex, Md., Rosa Beard of Lynchburg, Bobbie Pentecost of Buena Vista and Madeline Smith of Lumberton, N.C.; three sons, Grover Ramsey of Amherst County, and Lawrence Ramsey and Delmas Ramsey of Emporium, Pa.; 42 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Flint of Essex, Md.; two brothers, Houston Tyler and Roy Tyler of Richmond, and a special granddaughter, Frances Tomlin of Buena Vista. The funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1998, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jessie Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Ononoco Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, at Lomax Funeral Home, and other times at 236 East 28th Street.
