Mr. Ramsey was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was retired from Bonded Fibers after many years of service.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel J. Ramsey and Roy Lee Ramsey; and one sister, Alice Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Ann Coleman Ramsey; his mother, Clarie Ramsey; two sons, William Tex Ramsey and Charles C. Ramsey, both of Buena Vista; four daughters, Pamela Jean Hall of Buena Vista, Betty Joe Miller of Staunton, Patricia Wager of Florida, and Gwendolyn Ramsey of North Carolina; two stepsons, Manuel Dafonseca and Frank Dafonseca, both of Buena Vista; three brothers, Grover Ramsey of Vesuvius, Delmas Ramsey, and Lawrence W. Ramsey, both of Emporium, Pa.; six sisters, Lillian Fitzgerald and Rosa Beard of Lynchburg, Alice Ramsey of Pennsylvania, Daisy Sears of Baltimore, Md., Madeline Smith of Lumberton, N.C., and Barbara Pentecost of Buena Vista; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service.
