Rozena Ruth Groden was born January 31, 1933 in Cleveland, Oklahoma the daughter of Sherman and Lucy (Gregory) Storm. She passed away from this life on Monday, October 22, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 23 days.

Rozena graduated from Oilton High School. She moved to West Tulsa from Cleveland 56 years ago. In her younger years she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and later worked as an administrative assistant for Silvey Insurance Company. She was a member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church. Rozena received an award from former President Bill Clinton for her volunteer work. She most recently volunteered for St. John’s Medical Center and Catholic Charities. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, cooking and baking; and liked to watch sports.

She married James Earl Groden, January 20, 1961 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1997. She was also preceded in death by both parents; son, Greg Groden; sisters, Shirley Shepherd and Sally Arnold; and brother, Homer Leslie “Bud” Storm.

Her survivors include son, James Earl Groden, Jr. and wife, Jowanna of Tulsa; sisters, Pat Martin and Gail Storm both of Owasso; brothers, Paul Storm and wife, Deanna of Tulsa and David Oscar Storm and wife, Anne Marie of Texas; grandchildren, Lisa McGrath and husband, John of Texas, Casey Graves and husband, Rodney of Tulsa, April Groden of Tulsa, William Groden of Bristol, Candice Rehorn of Jenks, Cortney Dye and husband, Jeff of Tulsa; and 16 great grandchildren.

Viewing for Rozena will be held 8 am - 8 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 and 8 am - 3 pm on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

A Rosary is scheduled for 5 pm, Thursday, October 25th and a funeral mass for 10 am, Friday, October 26th both at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 4532 S. 25th W. Ave. Burial will follow the mass at Calvary Cemetery, 91st & Harvard Ave. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home and an online guestbook is available by visiting www.heathgriffithfuneralhome.com.
