Over the years he has had several service and employment opportunities. Between the Korean War and Vietnam, he was in the U.S. Army stationed in Alaska, and served in a mail handling capacity, preparing him for his last employment with the United States Postal Service from which he retired after many years of service as a postal clerk.
Donna Grace Fisher and Homer Leslie Storm were united in marriage in Drumright, OK on June 30, 1949, and had celebrated over forty-three years of marriage prior to her death on February 19, 1993. He and Donna were the parents of three children.
He had many passions in life, but two particularly stand out: his avid involvement in bowling at Sahoma Lanes in Sapulpa, and his annual involvement with the Great Raft Race with the exception of the very first once, because it crept up on him and he was not aware of its existence. His contribution to the Great Raft Race was to assist his bowling team by preparing Mountain Oysters and BBQ Goat for their stamina building meal on the day of the Race. He was eagerly looking forward to the rebirth of the Race this year. At Sahoma Lanes, he could be found bowling five days a week up until he was 80 years old, when he started to slow down. Many a hot-shot younger bowler was shot down in defeat at the hands of this Senior Citizen. Times spent with his family were very important to him, and he will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his daughter, Nora Grayson and husband, John, sons, Richard “Rick” Storm and wife, June, and Dennis Leslie Storm and wife, Amy, all Sand Springs residents. Survivors also include four grandchildren, John Grayson, Melanie Christian, Dustin Storm and Melissa Storm, five great-grandchildren, Emily Grayson, John Paul Grayson, Zane Paul Grayson, Dakota Christian and Jude Christian; sisters, Pat Martin of Owasso, Ruth Groden of Tulsa, and Gail Storm of Owasso; brothers, Oscar David Storm and wife AnneMarie of San Antonio TX, and Paul Storm and wife, Deanna of Tulsa.
