Mrs. ETHEL BEATRICE HARNE, 70, of 4505 Valley View Road, Middletown, died Sunday, July 28, at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was the wife of Leo J. Harne, who died April 1, 1981. Born Dec. 4, 1914 in Harmony, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Fannie Wise Brandenburg.

She was employed by Hanover Shoe Company, Middletown, until 1966. She was a member of the Harmony Church of the Brethren, near Myersville.

She is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Mary Wiles, Frederick; Mrs. Lillian Smith, Sykesville; Mrs. Arlene O'Neal, Walkersville; Mrs. Erma Green, Myersville; and Mrs. Emogene Orrison, Thurmont; four brothers, Albert Brandenburg and George Brandenburg, both of Myersville; Melvin Brandenburg, Boonsboro; and Marshall Brandenburg, Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

Bearers, all nephews of Mrs. Harne, were Douglas Orrison, Robert Long, Sylvester Wiles, Marvin Brandenburg, Wayne Brandenburg, Larry Bradenbury, Larry Smith and Donald Guyton. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
