Margaret Lucile Shrimplin was born on March 14, 1923 to Elmer and Nancy Sample on the Curtis Homestead between Slaughterhouse and Rosebud Creeks South of Forsyth, Montana. She was the 6th child of 12 children born to the family. Margaret attended the Cross School until the family moved to the Hardy Ranch on Armelles Creek where she attended the Paul Jones Creek School and working on the family farm in beet fields, cooking for the area farmers during harvest and later worked at the Forsyth Hospital as a cook.
She was married in 1939 to Jake William Martin and they made their home Miles City, Montana and worked Cohagen, Montanta.
After a divorce she was married in 1946 to Robert LeRoy Shrimplin and they lived in Forsyth, Montana. Robert and Margaret divorced in 1965 and Margaret worked for Jack’s IGA in Forsyth for 32 years, retiring in 1985. In that same year she moved to Buffalo, Wyoming with her life partner and best friend, Perry Clinton Yeoman.
Perry passed away in June of 2015 and Margaret continued living in Buffalo until her death. She had been a resident of the Amie Holt Care Center since February of 2018.
Margaret enjoyed hiking. She was an avid bowler and competed in the National Women’s Bowling competitions and Seniors Mixed Tournament with Perry for several years. She also loved to travel and meet new people. She never met a stranger and her passion was spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by one son James Shrimplin of Gillette; one daughter Hazel Smith of Neshkoro, Wisconsin; one sister Eva Lasater of Forsyth, Montana; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her life companion, Perry Yeoman
