Virgil Wendell Everson, age 80, a resident of Rt. 2, Belington, Point Pleasant Rd., passed away Friday, December 23, 2005, at his residence.

Mr. Everson was born January 7, 1925, at East Bend Community in Belington, a son of the late Roy and Madge (Wagner) Everson.

Surviving are five sisters, Virginia Wilmouth of Philippi, Mary Nell Wilmouth of Mogadore, OH, Helen Ketchem of Freeport, OH, Kathern Foy of Martinsburg, WV, and Geneva Poae of Flint, Mich; five brothers, Bertsell Everson of Burns, Tenn., Don Everson of Flint, Mich., Tommy Everson of Akron, OH, Raymond Everson of Flint, Mich., and Cecil Everson of Atwater, OH.

Mr. Everson was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Everson and Gladys Booth; four brothers, Homer Everson, Russell Everson, Billie Everson and Denzil Everson.

Mr. Everson worked for Badger Coal Company as a miner.

Mr. Everson was a farmer and avid hunter and a member of the Belington Church of Christ.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 21 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Monday, December 26, from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 27, from 8-11 a.m., the service hour, with Evangelist Michael Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Holbert Cemetery on Point Pleasant Rd.
