HOMER – Marion E. Bear, 78, Homer, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 29, 1961) at the Champaign County Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past 4 ½ years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Jeanes Funeral Home, Homer, with Gayle Hollingsworth of the Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery at Homer.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bear was born May 9, 1883 near Homer, son of Pinkney and Martha Kirby Bear. He was married to Clytie Stemp in October, 1938.
He leaves his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Mary McQueen and Mrs. Betty Barton, both of Champaign; two grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Isaac, both of Homer; and a sister, Mrs. Rosie Smith, Homer.
He was a retired farmer and truck gardener. He was a member of the Homer Church of Christ.
