Regiment participated in some of the very severely contested battles, including Battle of Perryville, the Battle of Stone River, Tullahoma Campaign, Chicamauga, Chattanooga, the Atlanta Campaign and Kennesaw Mountain. He mustered out with his company on 14 October 1864
