Mrs. L.S. Catlin Is Dead
Passes Away Yesterday Afternoon at the Home of Mrs. Carhart in Marion.
At 4:15 o’clock yesterday afternoon Mr. W.W.Wyant received a message from Marion briefly bringing to Waterloo the sad intelligence of the death in that city of Mrs. Lois S. Catlin. The words of sorrow had been expected since last Saturday, when friends in Waterloo had been appraised of Mrs. Catlin’s serious condition, but it was a great shock to her large circle of friends and many expressions of regret were heard and messages of condolence were sent to her only child, Miss Anna Cattlin, who had been at her mother’s bedside since her illness, became serious.
Mrs. Catlin was the widow of Rev. Lyman Catlin, whose death occurred here several years ago. She was spending the winter with Mrs. Dr. Carhart, an old and dear friend, when she was stricken with pneumonia almost two weeks ago.
The funeral services will be held in this city at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of the deceased, 1010 LaFayette street. The remains will be brought here from Marion, arriving on the B.C.R.&N. train, at 9:50 and will be conveyed at once to the home. The casket will be open from 11 o’clock to 1 p.m. so friends may take a last look at the departed one. Rev. T.M. Evans will conduct the services and will be assisted by Rev. F.E. Brush, of the Cedar Rapids church. the interment.
