Mattie O. Blankenship, 72, of Rte. 3, Dixon, died Wednesday, April 13, 1988, at ST. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. She was born Aug. 12, 1915 in Maries County to Elmer and Nora May Rowden. On Dec. 31, 1933 she was married to William Guy Blankenship, who died July 17, 1969.

Surviving her are two sons, LeRoy Blankenship and Dean Blankenship, both of Iberia; a daughter, Linda Hodge of Rte. 3, Dixon; four brothers, Virgil Rowden and Carl Rowden, both of Meta, Curtis Rowden of Edwards, Ill. and Norman Rowden of Iberia; three sisters, Mable Sloan of Dixon and Marie Ahart and Lorene Workman, both of Iberia; and four grandsons.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home in Iberia with the Rev. Monty Roark officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
