Cora Elizabeth Slaven Claiborne Sexton, 78, died January 17, 1999, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Maryville. Born in Oneida, April 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Martha Slaven. In addition to her parents, she was preceded also in death by her first husband, Blaine Claiborne; her second husband, Charles Sexton; one sister, Pernie Hill; and one brother Arvil Lee Slaven. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church, Oneida. She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Wintermeyer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Carolyn Bleakley of Santa Fe, New Mexico; four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, two sisters, Pearl Thompson and Nora Slaven, both of Oneida; one brother, Hollis Slaven of Oneida; nieces, Vida Lou Neal, Joyce White, Shelia Baron; one nephew, Ronald Gene Hill; and many other relatives. Visitation was to be Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, from 6 9 p.m., at West-Murley Funeral Home. Funeral service is to be conducted January 21, 1999, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church with Rev.
