Clifton Leon Gillihan of Flippin, Arkansas

Clifton Leon Gillihan, son of the late Simon Gillihan and Verlie Smith Gillihan, was born March 14, 1942 in Twin Creek, Arkansas. He departed this life December 24, 2017 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Melba Burgess October 18, 1961 and together they raised two daughters. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. His working years were spent logging and working at Sentinal Wood Treating in Calico Rock until he retired. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandsons and daughters. He had an outgoing personality and loved everyone he met. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mountain Home.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Melba Burgess Gillihan of the home; two daughters: Carmon Anette Gillihan Morrow and Connie Gillihan White and husband Eddie all of Flippin; three brothers: Boyce Gillihan and wife Frances, George Gillihan and wife Janette and Junior Gillihan and wife Chloe all of Melbourne; two sisters: Katherine Gillihan Phipps and husband Tom and Geneva Gillihan Blankenship all of Melbourne; three grandchildren: Cristin Jackson, Jimmy Morrow and wife Sasha and Leslie Morrow; six great grandchildren: Tyl Lane Jackson, Gracie Jackson, Alvia Morrow, Brentley Morrow, Slayton Wheeler and Lexi Scott and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Simon and Verlie Smith Gillihan; one brother: Shelby Gillihan; his father and mother in law: Oscar Ray and Beulah Lawrence Burgess.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of the Ozarks, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72654.

There will be a visitation Sunday, December 31 from 2-4 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne
