Paul Junior Gillihan, son of the late Simon Gillihan and Verlie Mae Smith Gillihan, was born February 19, 1932 in Twin Creek, Arkansas. He departed this life October 26, 2020 at his home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was united in marriage to Opal Dean Burgess in 1956 and together they raised two children. Opal passed away in 1996. On October 15, 2005, married Cloye Jones. Junior was considered a quiet man. Most of his life was spent working as a logger or cattleman. At 18 years old, he purchased a log truck and went into the logging business. A short time later his four brothers wanted to work with him and “The Company of Gillihan Brothers” was born. When he wasn’t working, he could be found at the VFW dancing. He was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Twin Creek Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Cloye Gillihan of the home; two children: Beverly Kuhlman and husband Danny of Waldren and Ronnie and Kim Gillihan of Melbourne; one brother: Boyce Gillihan and wife Frances of Melbourne; two sisters: Geneva Blankenship of Melbourne and Katherean Phipps and husband Tom of Larkin; five grandchildren: Justin Dew (Michelle), Jessica Martin (Sean), Kagni Gillihan, Karli James and MaKenzi Gillihan; seven great grandchildren: Avery Dew, Tristan Martin, Cheyenne Martin, Joshua Harris, Ty Franks, Paisley Burgess, Brooks Munroe and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Shelby Gillihan, George Gillihan, Clifton, Gillihan; one granddaughter: Jennifer Harris; one brother-in-law: Cleveland Blankenship and one step grandson: Lane Taylor.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Donald Gillihan officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Jeff Gillihan, Allen Love, Toby Smith, Braden Tate, Mike McSpadden, Dwight Gillihan.

Honorary Pallbearers: Donald Gillihan, Rick Gillihan, Gene McSpadden, Charles Smith.
