Doris was born to Ommund E. and Christine Oftedahl, both of whom had come to the United States from Norway as youngsters. She was raised in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She married Con C. Cook, and they lived in Miami Springs, Florida while he was a radio technician for Pan American Airways. After retirement, they traveled internationally, including two trips to the Oftedahl home farm in Norway.
They had no children, but were always helping nieces and nephews. Psalm 116:15--"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
