Ruby was the second of seven children born to Hugh Franklin and Courtney Elizabeth (Jones) Boatright. She married Riley Davenport and they were the parents of one daughter: Delores Lee. She later married Harry Bert Morris in 1944.

MARION - Ruby Chestel Morris, 89, of Marion died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1997, at her home
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at Rose Holl Cemetery, Marion. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 28, 1997, Marion. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Morris was born on August 18, 1980, in Marion to Hugh Franklin and Courtney Louisa (Jones) Boatright.
She married Harry Bert Morris on Dec. 22, 1944, and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Delores Lee (Davenport) and Dale Lovelace of Marion, three granddaughters, and their husbands, Lori Michel and Michael Heuschele of St. Charles, Mo, Lisa Renee and Steven McKinney of Springfield and Susan Leanne and Brent Holst of San Diego, Calif.; three great-granddaughters, Christi Nichole, Ashely Marie and Mallory Kate McKinney all of Springfield; one great-grandson, Fletcher Dale Holst of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Janie Dippie of Marion and Jewel Travelstead of Morton; two brothers, Leamon O. Boatright of Bradenton, Fla., and Hugh Wilson Boatright of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lloyd Boatright, and one sister, Bessie Dunning.
Mrs. Morris was raised near Paulton where she attended both Methodist and Baptist churches, serving as pianist and teacher. She later attended the First Church of God in Marion. She was a homemaker, Girl Scout leaders and active mother and grandmother, attending every school, band and sports function, dance recital and church event of her granddaughters.
For many years she served the Democratic Party as precinct worker and election judge in Marion.
