What little we know about Nancy Osborne Jackson comes from two published sources:

Nancy Osborne Jackson was the seventh child and second daughter of Francis and Elizabeth Woosman Childress Jackson.

Nancy Jackson married Matthew Elam on 7 May 1817 in Williamson Co., Tn. They were the parents of six children and possibly others:

- Thomas L.

Martha R.(1817-1870) married Jonathan Elisworth Wood and they had nine children

- 1860 for Big Springs, Sheby Co., Illinois in the home of her son, Joel Jackson Elam, with her spouse, two other sons, and three grandchildren
- 1870 for Big Springs, Sheby Co., Illinois in the home of her son, Thomas L. Elam, and his spouse, one grandchildren

Nancy Jackson Elam received a pension for her husbands service in the War of 1812. It provided her date of death. Her burial is unproven and most likely unmarked, but she is placed here based upon the burial of spouse and her children in same cemetery.
