His first name was written William not Willie in the M. I. Perry Family Bible that in 1998 was in possession of his granddaughter, Allene Hasten Mauldin. However, in later documents, he signed his name as Willie R. Perry.

W. C. Perry Funeral At Mertens
MERTENS (SPU)- Funeral services for William Richmond Perry were held Thursday at Mertins Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Holts officiated. Burial was in Richland Cemetery near Corsicana.
Mr. Perry, long-time Mertens resident, died at his home Tuesday. He was 65. Surviving are his wife, five five sons, Billy Perry of Olney, C.D. Perry of Fort Worth, R. Perry of Port Neches, James Earl Perry of Fort Worth, and William Marion Perry of Mertens; four daughters. Mrs. C.H. Ballew of Olney, Mrs. T. C Williamson of Palestine. Mrs. L.A. Williams of Mertens, and A. M. Farrell of Eloz, Ariz., two brothers. E.L. Perry and E.C. Perry of Mertens: three sisters, Mrs. E. C. Hasten of Ravenna, and Mrs. H. 0. Kramme and Mrs. A.C. Hollingsworth of Mertins; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
