Samuel Allen Deal, 1600 block Jefferson Street, died at the Washington County Hospital Sunday at 6:45 a.m. He was 64 years of age.
He had been ill since January and was admitted to the hospital May 31.
Born in Edgemont, he was the son of Samuel and Eliza (Finafrock) Deal. He had spent most of his life at Edgemont, moving to Hagerstown four years ago to become steward at the North American Rod and Gun Club. He had farmed during his early life, and was employed at the Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, for a number of years.
Besides his wife, Ethel M. (Kipe) Deal, he is survived by the following: daughters, Mrs. Ruby Door and Mrs. Laura Timmons, Washington D.C.; Mrs. Mary Schildt, Smithsburg, Route Two; Mrs. Catherine Fager, Hagerstown; brothers, Clyde, Smithsburg, Route Two; Edward, Hagerstown, Route Five; Daniel and Samuel A., Jr., Havre de Grace; sisters, Bertha Fleagle, Smithsburg; Mrs. Jessie Sprankle, Rouzerville; Mrs. Laura Ferguson, Waynesboro, Route One; 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held from the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. C. M. Magaha and Rev. Perry Gonso officiating. Interment in Ringgold Cemetery.
