SAMUEL A. DEAL died at his home two miles west of Edgemont Saturday at 2 p.m. His death was caused by paralysis, with which he was suddenly afflicted Friday at 5 p.m. He was aged 68 years, 11 months and 14 days.
Mr. Diehl was born in Franklin county and lived in this vicinity all his life. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted in the Company G, 17th Pennsylvania Cavalry and served three years. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. James Zimmerman, Pleasant Hill; George Carl, Blue Mountain; Franklin, Blue Mountain; Mrs. Samuel Sprenkle, Zullinger; Mrs. Milton Ferguson, near Greensburg; Mrs. Samuel Poper and Mrs. Jacob Fleagle, Edgmont; Gertrude and Samuel A., at home. One brother, Samuel A., Toddsfield, Iowa, survives.
Funeral services from the house Tuesday at 10 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Drs. A. C. Whitmer and F. F. Bahner, this city. Interment in the Harbaugh Reformed burial ground.
