Wife Carrie Belle Johns, they married July 4, 1893. Farmed near Stop 3, Midvale, Franklin County, PA. The spelling of Deihl seems to have been changed by George Carl Diehl. The brothers and sisters retained the spelling Deal.

Children: Susan D. Diehl, died in infancy; Ray Delbert Deihl (sic) married Rhoda Gale Hess; Charles Edward Dielh, married Kathryn E. Hartle; Florence Diehl, married Wilbur Baker; Ethel I. Diehl, married Wilbur Theodore Neibert; Evelyn "Ebbie" M. Diehl, married Daniel Baer; Cathryn Diehl, married Ivan R. Overcash; and Lionel S. Diehl, married Myrtle M. Kettoman.

Goerge Carl Diehl, aged 69 years, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at his home at Stop 3, Waynesboro Route 4. He had been a farmer in this vicinity his entire life until his illness in July, 1939, when he was overcome by the heat while threshing.
He was born at Marion, Pa., the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Finafrock Deal. He was a member of the Harbaugh Reformed Church.
Survivng are his wife, Carrie B. Johns, and the following children: Lionel S., of Smithsburg Route 2; Charles E. of Waynesboro; Mrs. Wilbur Baker of Waynesboro; Mrs. Wilbur Neibert of Waynesboro, Mrs. Daniel Baer, of Waynesboro Route 4, and Mrs. Ivan Overcash of Waynesboro Route 4; a daughter in-law, Mrs Rhoda Diehl of Ringgold; twenty-three grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Minnie Zimmerman of Waynesboro; Mrs Milton Ferguson, Waynesboro Route 4; Mrs Samuel Sprenkle of Waynesboro; Mrs. Jacob Fleagle, Smithsburg Route 2; Frank of Hagerstown and Allen, of Smithsburg Route 2
Furneral seevices will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the home with services at Harbaugh's church at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. V.H. Jones. Interment will be made in the Adjoining cemetery. The body may be viewed Frriday evening from 7 until 9 o'clock at the home.
