The daughter of Jacob Henry Crum and Barbara Ann Huffer. She married John Henry Boward.

MRS. HETTIE JANE BOWARD FUNERAL SET FOR MONDAY

Mrs. Hettie Jane Boward, 80, a life-long resident of Augusta County, died at the Anderson Nursing Home in Staunton Friday night at 10:26. The body will be taken to the home of her son, Lacy Boward, Churchville. Mrs. Boward was the daughter of the late Jacob Henry Crum and Barbara Ann Huffer, who was born on May 30, 1866. Her husband, John Henry Boward, passed away on Feb. 22, 1931.
Surviving are the following children: J.C. Boward, J.P. Boward, both of Staunton; L.C. Boward, of Churchville; J.F. Boward and L.M. Boward, of Waynesboro; Mrs. Hollis Brown, of Richmond; Mrs. Jay Dee Patton, of Waynesboro, and Dayton Ohio; Mrs. Alice Craig, of the county; J.L. Boward, recently discharged from the U.S. Navy; Captain Nellie M. Boward, U.S. Army Nurse Corps; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Brothers and sisters surviving her are S.H. Crum and T.J. Crum, of Augusta County; J.A. Crum, of Aliquippa, Pa.; Mrs. Maargaret Props, of Mt. Solon, and Mrs. Minnie Landes, of Waynesboro.
Mrs. Boward was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, of Churchville, from which the burial service will be held. The hour of service has been tentatively set for Monday, Nov. 5, at three o'clock, pending arrival of Nellie M. Boward, who landed yesterday at Portland, Ore., from Okinawa. The service will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W.H. Kibler. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Messrs. Harvey Frye, Wade Frank, Charles Cupp, Fred Ritchie, Blair Huffer and Harry Roudabuch. Honorary pallbearers: The Rev. Paul Sleg, Rev. W.W.J. Ritchie, Messrs. Roy Collins, Robert Bare, Albert Bare, Tuner Ashby, Stanley Shumate, Harmon Snyder, Otho Caricofe, Dr. J.B. Stone, Dr. Glenn G. Campbell and S.C. Liggett.
