Obituary
A Scripture Service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary for Lena Enos Buss, 98, of Santa Maria. The Rev John W Wishard of St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church will officiate. Private entombment will be at Lady Family Sutcliffe Lawn Memorial Park in San Luis Obispo.
She died of natural causes Oct 27, 1996, at a local convalescent center.
Mrs Buss was born June 8, 1898, in Oso Flaco.
She was a member of the pioneer Enos and Barcellos families, and lived on the family ranch until moving to Santa Maria in 1906. She married Howard Buss
in 1954, and they lived on the Enos ranch for 90 years. She was a horsewoman, and involed with the Nature Conservancy by allowing hikers onto the Oso Flako Dune property called Coreopsis Hill. In 1994 a monument was erected in her name and the Enos family name headed by Kathleen Jones.
Survivors include her husband Howard J Buss of Santa Maria; and nieces JoAnn Kauffman of Nipomo, Diana Enos Hammock, and Dorene Enos Rhea both of Santa Maria.
Mrs Buss was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Enos, sisters Ida Galentine, Margaret Enos, and Mary Enos, and brothers Henry, George and Joseph Enos.
Visitation is from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
