WALTER H. JOHNS
Walter H. Johns, 93 died November 13, 2005, at the Golden Plains Health Care Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He was born April 10, 1912, in Woodward County, Oklahoma, the son of Ed and Emma Johns. A resident of Hutchinson, Kansas since 1942, moving from Oklahoma, he was a carpenter for a private contractor, retiring for the former Stuckey Lumber.
He was a 20-year member of Roving Rebels Camping Club.
On July 7, 1934, he married B. Ruth George in Tatoga, Dewey County, Oklahoma. She survives.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Pastor Judith Wascher presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, Kansas. Burial will be in Andover Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church, in care of the funeral home.
