Ruby Johns, 81-year-old Mooreland resident, died Saturday in the Woodward Hospital and Health Center, Woodward, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Mooreland Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Gary Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ruby Hazel Johns was born on the family farm in the Mayfield Community on April 26, 1909. She was the daughter of Ed and Emma Johns. She attended the Mayfield school. Ruby and her brother Art lived on the family farm and took care of their parents and farmed. They both retired from the farm and moved into Mooreland, Oklahoma in June of 1980.
Ruby was a member of the Mooreland Assembly of God Church and also the Women's Ministry of the church. She quilted and made lap robes at the church every Tesday with the ladies.
Survivors include three brothers, Arthur Johns of the home; Roy Johns and wife, Laverne Mooreland, Oklahoma; Walter Johns and wife Ruth, Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Viola Hopkins, Mooreland, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
Services were at the Assembly of God Church in Mooreland, Oklahoma on April 23, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Officiationg was Reverend Gary Mitchell.
Pallbearers were Wesley Bird, Marvin Johns, Melvin Bird, Elvin Johns, Sonny Johns, Blackie Johns, Max Johns, Wayneard Hopkins and Donald Johns.
Interment was in the Union Cemetery south of Quinlan, Oklahoma.
