Allen C. Arnwine Sr., 94, formerly of Danville, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, a resident of The Gardens at Orangeville.
Allen was born on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1922, in Bloomsburg, son of the late Charles and Edna (Ande) Arnwine.
Throughout his younger years, Allen attended the Bloomsburg-area schools and, later, graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1939. During World War II, Allen faithfully served his country. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
In 1945, Allen married his loving wife, the former Helen C. Farver.
For more than 42 years, Allen was employed by Rome and Haas Co. as a carpenter/machinist until his retirement in 1982. He was a former member of the Bloomsburg Moose.
In addition to his parents, Allen was also preceded in death by four siblings: Harold Arnwine, Vera Hinkel, Arlene Truskey and Beatrice.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Helen C. (Farver) Arnwine, of Orangeville; two children: Allen C. Arnwine Jr. (Margaret) of The Villages, Fla., and Deborah Kern (David) of New Bern, N.C.; five granddaughters; and seven great???grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Allen Funeral Home Inc., 745 Market at Eighth St., Bloomsburg. Graveside committal and military honors will immediately follow in the New Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg.
