NORMA JEAN FRANCIS, 87, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home in Fort Wayne surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Charles C. and Minnie M. Bolinger. She was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne and graduated from Central High School in 1948. Norma worked at Buschbaum and North Side Pharmacy for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, and was known as the "cookie lady". Her hobbies included making jams and baking, camping, reading, bike riding, spending time at Portage Lake, in Michigan. Norma was an avid card player and bowler. Her passion in life was spending time with her family. Surviving are her loving husband of 67 years, James Francis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; sons, James E. Francis of Portage, Mich.; Frank Francis of Vicksburg, Mich.; daughter, Jill M. (Chris Bates) Diedring of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren, Samuel Francis, Adam Slen, Benjamin Diedring. Norma was also preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers. Memorial service is 4 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling from 1 to 4 p.m. Private burial at Brushy Chapel Cemetery, LaGrange, Ind.
