Lucille Petre Phipps - age 83, of Powder Springs, passed away Thursday night, March 25, 1993 at Brakebill Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Phipps. She was a faithful member of Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church for over 59 years also a retired merchant in the community. Survivors include her sons, Jimmie, Jackie, Eddie; four grandchildren, Marty Phipps of Powder Springs, Freddie Phipps and Jacqueline Skinner of Florida, Tina Dalton of Bean Station; great-granddaughter, Parlene Phipps of Florida; brothers Edward of Washburn, Herman of Maryville, Bill of Jefferson City; sisters, Molissie McGinnis, Hettie Acuff of Washburn, Helen Phillips of Ohio, Mattie Collins of Knoxville. Funeral services wil be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 1993 at Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman Lakins officiating. Interment will follow in the Doyle Wayne Needham Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home in Rutledge, in charge.
