grew up near Bellwood and attended rural Butler County School. On December 19, 1928, Elsie married Paul Kruse in Grand Island, Nebraska. Elsie was a homemaker who was a wonderful cook and enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She was a member of the Bellwood United Methodist Church where was active in the United Methodist Women and was also a member of the Octavia Extension Club.
