Vernon Allison
Vernon V. Allison, 65, of 1534 Globe St., a former employe of the Midland Works of the Crucible Steel Co., died Sunday a 1:45 a.m. at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center after a 12 - week illness. A native of Greene Township, Beaver County, Mr. Allison was born Aug. 16, 1901, a son of Jonathan Allison and Maggie Wright Allison. He had resided in the vicinity 40 years. He was a roller manipulator in the blooming mill of the Midland plant, working there for 46 years. He was a social member of the East Liverpool Buckeye Club and Steelworkers Local 1212. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dorthy Sullivan Allison, at home; two sons, Charles Allison of Regina, Canada, and Spec. 4C Ronald Allison, stationed with the Army in Texas; five step-sons, William Sullivan, Michael Sullivan and Dave Sullivan, all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Keith (Grace) Haney of East Liverpool and Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Barrickman of El Cajon, Calif.; two step-daughters, Miss Marlene Kay Sullivan and Miss Jady Lynn Sullivan, both at home; four brothers, Raymond Allison and Theodore Allison, both of East Liverpool, Orin Allison of Wellsville and Roy Allison of Hookstown and six grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 the Oakland Free Methodist Church and the Rev. Harry McKnight of the Chester Free Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Hookstown. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight, Tuesday afternoon and night.
