Orin W. Allison, 74, of 154 S. Shady Lane Dr. died Thursday at 6:40 p.m. in City Hospital following a year's illness. A lifelong resident in the area, Mr. Allison was born Oct. 26, 1903, in Georgetown, Pa., a son of Robert R. Allison and Maggie Wright Allison. He was retired from the Weirton Steel Division of the national Steel Corp, and was a member of its 25 Year Club. He also was a member of the Independent Steel Workers Union and had attended the riverside United Presbyterian Church in Wellsville. Beside his widow, Mrs. Verna V. Sergeant Allison at home, survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Irenea) Tuft of North Versailles, Pa.; two stepsons, O'Dell M. Lawson of Aviston, Ill., and Thurman (John) Lawson of Aurora, Colo.; two brothers, Raymond R. Allison of East Liverpool and Roy R. Allison of Hookstown; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. James McCollam. Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday afternoon and night, where the family will be present from 2 - 4 and 7 to 9.
