Roy Allison, 78, retired steelworker

Hookstown -- Roy R. Allison, 78, of Hookstown died Monday, Oct. 21, 1991, at home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Georgetown Sept. 16, 1913, a son of the late Robert Allison and Maggie May Wright Allison. Mr. Allison was a retired employee of the blast furnace department at the Aliquippa Works of the Jones and Laughlin Steel Co. He was a member of the Greene Valley United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Anna Tate Allison, at home; a son, Wayne Roy Allison of Hookstown; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Foody and Frances (Mrs. Gerald) Torrence of Hookstown; 16 grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren. A daughter, Carol Floyd, preceded him in death. The Rev. Rico Vespa of the church is to conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Welch Funeral Home. Burial is to be in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
