Mrs. Martha Orndoff, 88, a resident of the Kittitas Valley for more than 60 years, died Sunday at her home at 511 N. Sprague. Her husband, the late Porter Orndoff, died last October 3.
Born in Shelby County, Missouri, December 27, 1868, she was married to Porter Orndoff at Springfield, Illinois, August 19, 1886. Soon after their marriage they moved by covered wagon to Nebraska where they lived until they moved to Seattle in 1890. In 1894 they moved to Ellensburg and have lived here since that time. She was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Les and Fred Orndoff, both of Ellensburg; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie Gates, Yakima, and Mrs. Irene Ellsworth, Ellensburg, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Both she and her husband were the last of families of nine children.
Funeral services will be held at the Evenson Chapel, Thursday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Miller C. Lovett officiating. Burial will be in the Thorp Cemetery.
