ACCIDENT:

Mrs. James C. Norris, 82, of Ronald was fatally injured yesterday when the car her husband was driving, blew out a rear tire and rolled over an embankment on the Haywood Hill near Thorp yesterday afternoon.

Mrs. Norris was brought to the Ellensburg Hospital together with the other three occupants of the car. Suffering from a fractured skull, the aged lady passed away this morning.

Others injured in the accident included Mr. Norris, 70, minor bruises; Charlotte Davis, 18, Pendleton, Oregon, bruises; Grace Bogart, 35, Toppenish, head injuries and a strained back.

Mr. Norris told officers he was going down the hill about 20 miles an hour when the rear tire blew out and plunged the car over an embankment.

Funeral services for Mrs. James C. Norris, of Ronald, the former Mrs. C. M. Davis, who died here yesterday from injuries received in an automobile accident on the Cle Elum highway, will be held at 1:30 Monday afternoon from the Honeycutt Chapel.

The Rev. B. Scott Bates will conduct the services and burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mrs. Norris, who was well known throughout the country, is survived by her husband, James Norris; three sons, Claude Davis, Fort Lawton; John Davis, Auburn, and Clyde Davis, Pendelton, Oregon, a daughter, Mrs. Grace Bogard of Toppenish, and two sisters, Mrs. Porter Orndoff, Thorp and Mrs. Nan Wilhite, Springfield, Illinois.
