Porter Orndoff, 91, a resident of the Kittitas Valley for 63 years, died at his home at 511 N. Sprague, Thursday evening. He had been in failing health for some time. Born at Taylorville, Illinois, December 20, 1865, he was married to Lydia Martha Nuckolls in Springfield, Illinois, August 19, 1886, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at their home a year ago.

Immediately after their marriage they went to Alda, Nebraska by covered wagon, remaining there until 1890 when they moved to Seattle. In 1894 they came to Ellensburg, first homesteading in the Damman District and later moving to the old Splawn ranch near Thorp, where they farmed from 1896 to 1944 when they moved to their present home in Ellensburg.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Les and Fred Orndoff, both of Ellensburg, and two daughters, Mrs. Irene Ellsworth, Ellensburg, and Lillie Gates, Yakima; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Evenson Chapel next Monday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Miller C. Lovett officiating. Burial will be in the Thorp Cemetery.
